Government Sales & Contracts Specialist New Windsor, New York $85K DOE + commission About the Role A growing product supplier is seeking a Government Sales & Contracts Specialist to manage government bids and contracts while growing relationships with agency buyers. The priority is supporting existing customers and turning awarded contracts into orders. The role will also develop new business through bid portals, cooperative contracts, and direct agency outreach. This person will manage the department’s day-to-day work, reporting to the department director, with support staff assisting with research and data entry. What We’re Looking For The right candidate is someone who is: – Hands-on experience identifying government bid opportunities, preparing and submitting bids, and working with government purchasing departments – Sales-driven, with consistent follow-through to turn opportunities into orders – Highly organized, with strong attention to detail – A proactive communicator who takes ownership and works well with a team – Comfortable learning new tools, including AI tools; CRM experience is a plus Responsibilities – Monitor government bid sites and agency portals, qualify opportunities and track deadlines – Prepare accurate, competitive bids and coordinate supplier quotes, pricing and shipping – Maintain and renew contracts, update products and pricing, and increase contract utilization – Support existing customers, introduce products, request referrals and resolve issues – Develop sales through cooperative contracts, trade shows and agency outreach – Keep bids, quotes, customer interactions and renewals updated in the CRM – Monitor shared inboxes and respond promptly to quote requests Experience Government bidding and contracts experience is strongly preferred, together with hands-on sales ability.
