E-Commerce Copywriter | Brooklyn, NY (in office) $75,000-$85,000 Location: Brooklyn, NY (In-Office Only) Schedule: Mon-Thu 9-6 | Fri 9-2 Salary: $75,000-$85,000 (DOE) Benefits: Health Insurance | 401(k) with company match About the Company We are an established omnichannel e-commerce company working with leading brands across multiple product categories. We manage the content, product data, marketplace requirements, and operational complexity needed to sell successfully across major retail channels. About the Role We are looking for an experienced E-Commerce Copywriter to join our creative team and own high-volume product content across Amazon and our other marketplace channels. Most of this role is focused on turning manufacturer and vendor information into accurate, persuasive, marketplace-specific product content that helps products get found, understood, and purchased. This is not a general marketing or blog-writing role. We are looking for someone with at least 3 years of hands-on e-commerce product copy experience, primarily on Amazon, who understands listing structure, keyword research, SEO, and the growing importance of AEO/GEO and AI-shopping visibility. AI should be used as a tool to improve research and productivity - never as a substitute for judgment, originality, accuracy, or strong writing. Key Responsibilities Marketplace Product Content Write and update marketplace-specific product titles, bullets, descriptions, A+ / enhanced content, image callout copy, brand-store content, and other product-facing copy. Adapt content for Amazon, Walmart, Target+, eBay, Kohl's, Macy's, Best Buy, BBB/Overstock, SHEIN, TEMU, TikTok Shop, and other channels based on each marketplace's requirements and customer experience. Work across many brands and product categories and quickly learn the features, customer use cases, and competitive landscape of unfamiliar products. Continuously review and improve existing listings instead of treating content as a one-time project. Research, Optimization & Accuracy Research products independently when vendor information is incomplete and verify facts before publishing. Perform keyword and competitive research and apply SEO, AEO, GEO, and AI-shopping optimization principles without sacrificing readability or brand voice. Fact-check compatibility, dimensions, specifications, claims, features, and other product details and avoid unsupported or inaccurate language. Use performance insights, search behavior, marketplace data, and testing to identify content that should be updated or improved. AI-Assisted Workflow & Collaboration Use AI tools thoughtfully for research, ideation, analysis, and workflow efficiency while maintaining human ownership of the final content. Avoid generic, repetitive, or obviously AI-generated copy; every listing should be specific to the product, brand, marketplace, and customer. Work closely with Creative, PIM, Marketplace, and vendor/buyer teams to obtain missing information and develop the right content and assets. Direct and manage one or more virtual assistants (VAs), delegating research, data entry, and support tasks while maintaining ownership and quality of the final content. Manage a steady flow of new SKUs while also improving older listings across a large catalog. What We're Looking For 3+ years of hands-on e-commerce product copywriting experience, with strong Amazon listing experience required. Strong understanding of Amazon listing optimization, keyword research, SEO, and marketplace content best practices. Working knowledge of AEO, GEO, AI-search, and how product content is increasingly discovered and interpreted by AI shopping experiences. Excellent research, writing, editing, and fact-checking skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to adapt voice and structure across different brands, categories, products, and marketplace requirements. Comfort working at high volume without allowing quality, accuracy, or originality to slip. Strong judgment when using AI tools - able to use them for speed and insight without relying on them as a crutch. Portfolio or relevant e-commerce writing samples preferred. College degree not required. Additional Content: The primary focus is marketplace product content, but the role may also support packaging, marketing, email, social, and other brand copy as needed.
